Video Actions the Winning TV Network Trend on Social in July

Thursday 8 August, 2019, New York, NY: The Top 10 US TV rankings released today by Shareablee show the top properties recorded a 24% rise in video actions amongst them in July.

The number of actions in July amongst the Top 10 TV Networks also grew over the month by 14%. For the first time on the rankings, a property exceeded 1 billion video views in the month with ESPN fielding 1.1 billion views, up from 764.2 million in June.

Netflix rose one place to 2nd on the rankings after more than doubling its overall actions on last month and translating that into 286% increase in video actions, predominantly from Instagram.

Also notable was the CW network which jumped 3 places to re-enter the Top 10 in July, recording a 72% in video actions on last month.

Fox News led in the Actions to Fans Index at almost 5 times the national average, making it the most engaged audience in the Top 10 in July.

Shareablee CEO Tania Yuki says the continuing growth in actions was part of a broader trend towards quality and improved engagement.

"We're seeing networks getting smarter with how they use their content and tuning in more closely to their audience behaviour," Ms Yuki said.

"It's an objective all marketers and advertisers have within their sights and I'm thrilled to see these properties using data to drive their success," she said.
