What’s in the e-book? 

In 2017, social engagement for the average U.S. brand grew 20% year over year across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Twitter and Instagram captured a majority of the growth in engagement, both increasing by 34%. Twitter increased from 2.5 billion actions in 2016 to 3.4 billion in 2017, and Instagram increased from 30.2 billion actions in 2016 to 40.3 billion in 2017.

The total volume of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram actions (reactions, comments, shares, retweets and likes) grew 20% year over year. Twitter and Instagram are growing at a faster rate (+34%) than Facebook (+5%). Instagram continues to dominate with over a half of total engagement.
